Svoboda!

This is the slogan (meaning liberty) which the people of Prague chanted in 1968 as they opposed the Soviet invasion. The Freedom Committees have turned it into the title of a literary event dedicated to freedom in the East of the world

Memento Gulag

This is a Memorial Day for the victims of communism the world over that has been held for four years now in a different national capital, in collaboration with various organizations of the host country

The Case For Democracy

This is an initiative aiming to affirm the relationships that are possible between Islamic culture, the principles of freedom and democratic rules. It is open to all those who, whether in the Middle East or elsewhere, identify with these values

Z-Yo

("freedom" in Chinese)
This initiative wishes to call attention to the connections between the system of concentration camps, constant political and religious repression, the use of ruthless economic competition and the contempt for any and all ecological rules as a means of aggression and penetration into the West

That We May Never Forget

The Freedom Committees, the Union for Liberties and the Forza Italia Party of the Province of Perugia are organizing the yearly commemoration of the victims of September 11th 2001 and of all the attacks and wars waged in the name of ethno-religious fanaticism

Vivis

This is the title of a series of meetings dedicated by the Freedom Committees to natural law, the law upon which all other laws are based, the law of existence. The event is conceived of as a public confrontation on Bioethics, in a perspective beyond ideology, between philosophers and scientists who belong to different schools of thought

The Silence And The Glory

This is a study carried out by the Freedom Committees on crimes committed by Communists, Fascists and Nazis in the so-called Red Triangle of the Emilia-Romagna area during the last world war. Its aim is to produce publications and events that will to denounce the kidnappings and violence perpetrated against priests and religious people with meetings and publications

Fumus Persecutionis

This is a libertarian initiative of the Freedom Committees, aiming to protect both the right to produce tobacco and the right to inform citizens about the real dangers of smoking. Freedom from the effects of others' smoking can not be separated from the right to smoke, freely and responsibly chosen, which must not be criminalized

Cuba Libre

The island of Fidel Castro, upon which praises are heaped to this very day by members of the intellighenzia and people with nostalgia for Guevara-type Leninism, offers a shocking example of totalitarianism and corruption. While in Europe and America people are striving to find a way to end the embargo, political dissidents remain imprisoned and whoever tries to escape risks being shot. Cuba, which is often described as a country of collective fun and vacation, has the highest suicide rate of all Latin America. Prostitution and illegal abortion are the lot of an enormous number of young women. Cuba Libre is an attempt to denounce this state of things, give witnesses the chance to speak out, and favour symbolic public adoption of jailed dissidents

Turquie Express

How far can the European Union expand? Is it feasible and to be wished for that, at the end of the lengthy and highly complex negotiations now under way, Turkey may enter the EU as a full-fledged member? The question regards the very meaning of Europe and the future of the European Union. The EU must also clear up its political aims: is it to be a federation of ever closer states, a confederation of countries with varying connections, or an ensemble of nations that have a certain number of motives in common?
