| The multi-part system of EU is in a deadlock |

There is a close correspondence between the political earthquake which has shaken the traditional parties in EU, and the indifference and euro-scepticism which have dominated the campaign and the results of the EU elections. In both cases, more and more European citizens refuse the traditional multi-party-system, in which politics and power are really owned by politicians, professional organizations, administrations considered too far from normal people. The Lissabon Treatment, which suggested to adopt the proportional system in all EU countries for the common elections, has proved a failure. It’s time to change, just to save, at least partially, the prestige of Europe. It’s time to adopt the single member constituency, like in Great Britain, together with the plurality system: this means, only the first wins and goes to Parliament. As obvious consequence, he will be responsible in front of the electors for the job well or badly done, and will be judged, confirmed or rejected, upon a real basis. The Freedom Committes support this fundamental reform to save the shaken prestige of EU. |
